Planets – Apple Watch

Posted on Dec 2, 2014

So as we all know Apple Watch has been announced and even more recently Apple released the much anticipated (at least by developers ) Apple Watch SDK. I’ve not had a great deal of time to have an in depth look at whats available but I have been able to put together a simple application demonstrating most of the features and functionality that has been made available via the SDK.

The application demonstrates the two types of navigation that have been made available, hierarchical and page based, along with the use of tables, segues, animation and map view. Right now the best place I’ve found to look for guidance on developing for Apple Watch is actually the WKInterfaceCatalog application released by Apple, as opposed to the developer documentation. The sample application has been written in Swift.

Feel free to check out the project on Github, note that you’ll need the latest version of Xcode (6.2 beta) in order to build and run the demo application
